Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council - Telligen QIN-QIO

Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council

Telligen creates partnerships with patient advisors in Colorado, Illinois and Iowa. These advisors help us keep patients at the heart of our work to improve healthcare quality. Patient advisors include people with Medicare, their families, caregivers and advocates. By sharing their healthcare experiences with us, patient advisors empower Telligen and its partners to improve healthcare quality and value for all.

Overview

At Telligen, we believe healthcare consumers, patients and families are partners in quality improvement. Telligen QIN-QIO beneficiary and family advisory council (BFAC) members help us work with healthcare providers to deliver better patient-centered care across Colorado, Illinois, and Iowa.

The role of a BFAC advisor includes:

  • Sharing personal stories and experiences navigating the healthcare system.
  • Providing feedback and ideas to improve the Medicare care experience.
  • Sharing ideas to engage patients and families in their healthcare.
  • Making sure our materials are written in plain language and cover what people need to know.

Feature

Pat Critchfield, chair of the Telligen QIN Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council (BFAC), was drawn to the work of the BFAC because she is “passionate about empowerment and engagement of patients. I feel I can combine my professional experience with that of being a patient to offer a unique perspective.” Read more about Pat and her work with the Telligen BFAC in this month’s Meet Your Advisor.
